There was something that didn't suit the E30 M3 on the stages and that something was the rear suspension setup. Like the production car, the rally equivalent built by Prodrive featured a semi-trailing arm at the rear which only offered around 60mm of bump travel. A short travel range was suited to the smooth race circuits, but it made the E30.
